This morning, before I left for work, I was slightly surprised when I put my Invisalign on… I noticed in the mirror that my teeth looked straighter. This discovery grabbed my attention and made me do a quick examination. I kept looking at my teeth and I was thrilled…” my Invisalign program does work!”
Earlier this year, I decided to take action on my teeth misalignment. The dentist placed me on an Invisalign treatment program for 350 days. (35 tray total-10 days usage per tray). I was determined! Well honestly… when I hit tray #20, I started to get weary with the Invisalign. At that point, I saw some improvement. My front teeth looked straighter but my side teeth started moving and created quite a gap which became a nuisance during eating activity. I started slacking off and did not wear the tray as often as the doctor prescribed. When it was time to change to tray #22, I had some difficulty inserting my top Invisalign. I had to force it and it was painful. The pain was caused by my own fault. I was not doing my part (Lesson #1). The pain caused me to get back into my routine and use the Invisalign as per program. On tray #23, I did not see much improvement, so was tray #24 and tray#25.
But this morning… while using tray #26, I was surprised, it did work! Hard work and discipline does pay off. (Lesson #2). With this new motivation, I continued my program and I’m looking forward to perfectly aligned teeth.
As I reflect further on this, it reminds me of faith. Faith- seeing what the normal eyes can’t see. On the surface you cant’s see the change, nothing looks different, but suddenly out of nowhere, you see the transformation.
In the beginning, when we make a decision to reach our goals, (straighter teeth, losing weight, learning a new language, be a better person… or whatever our goal is) during the process, sometimes or most of the time we got weary due to the unseen result yet. Weary is the key word here. We get weary of doing our part because we feel no rewards or gain through our hard work. We start having doubts and that leads us to not doing our part. Well, I paid the price, the pain of #23 tray was the price. It was painful and uncomfortable until I was back on track.
The good thing about everything above is, God never stops doing His part. (Lesson #3) Like the Invisalign, He continues working behind the scene.
The principle of faith is the same- seeing past your current condition (the surface). Now my teeth are straighter. I have not reached my goal as yet, but I know I am on the right track, and I’m embracing my finish line coming soon.
The Bible quote on faith ” being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see”
“Without vision, people will perish”
Only with self-discipline, you can do and be anything that you envision. (Lesson #4). The vision is very important. “Without vision, people will perish”. That’s so true! Have a vision and have faith in doing it. For all will come to you at the appointed time.
Enjoy this great life! I am grateful at how Invisalign taught me …..Sincerely #bomboninvisalign #faith #nopainnogain
